Posted on: 05-13-2013

Bob Alger’s 30-year career in the industry began and continues to flourish at The Lane Construction Corporation. The combination of his executive expertise and standard of excellence has been instrumental in the growth and success of the heavy civil construction company. Within a relatively brief span, his organizational prowess and strong leadership led to promotions from Job Engineer to Project Manager, Vice President, and ultimately his current role as President and Chief Executive Officer. Since he assumed this role in 2001, Lane’s revenues have nearly quadrupled, totaling $1.4 billion in volume in 2012. The company’s domestic geographic footprint has nearly tripled, from locations primarily in the Northeast to expansion into the Southeastern, South Central, and Midwestern regions of the U.S.

He is co-chair of Trans2020, a blue-ribbon transportation construction industry task force assembled by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). The task force is spearheading ARTBA’s efforts to secure additional federal investment for MAP-21, the highway and transit program law enacted in 2012. His noteworthy awards include the Outstanding Project and Leadership (OPAL) Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2013, the Moles Award for Outstanding Achievement in Construction in 2011, and the Outstanding Engineering Alumni Award from Penn State’s College of Engineering in 2006.
